Finance Operations Manager

An opportunity has arisen within the Hastings District Council for a Finance Operations Manager.  The appointee will join a dynamic team and play a pivotal role within the finance function by managing all the operational and transactional areas of the Finance department.

This role is responsible for managing the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Rates teams, collection of Council revenue and bank management. The successful candidate will have a natural ability to learn systems and processes quickly and will provide support to the Financial Controller and Chief Financial Officer with a continuous improvement focus in the finance area.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A good understanding of accounting principles and a demonstrated level of experience

  • Experience in leadership and staff management

  • Attention to detail

  • The ability to resolve problems

  • Project management skills

  • Strong relationship /management skills

  • Excellent communication skills that ensures all internal and external stakeholders are on board

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and approachability
