Taitara Mahi – Director, Regional Strategic Procurement
We are seeking applications for a newly created role that is envisaged to have an immensely positive impact on the wider Hawke’s Bay Region.
The five councils within the Hawke’s Bay region - Central Hawke’s Bay District Council, Hastings District Council, Hawke’s Bay Regional Council, Napier City Council and Wairoa District Council - have created this role to lead, develop and implement a strategic and sustainable procurement model to support the councils to meet their regional collective objectives.
The Director, Regional Strategic Procurement will be responsible for developing strong and effective cross-council strategic procurement leadership, business partner relationships with external service providers as well as key internal stakeholders. The role will report to the Chief Executives of the five councils, with a day-to-day reporting line to the Chief Executive of Hastings District Council.
The successful candidate will have:
10 years+ experience in Procurement/Sourcing and/or other Commercial Operations.
At least seven years professional experience leading others.
Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics or related field or equivalent industry experience.
Demonstrated senior leadership experience in strategic influence and operational changes.
Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities.
Outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
